Jinx Chims sighed. It was getting really annoying advertising that he didn’t ask his clients questions about their assignments. Jinx licked his lower lip, ready to finalize the mission. “So,” he said, tossing his head back lazily. “You want me to sneak into Her Majesties’ palace. Steal the stuff in the small green box in the back of her treasure room and get it back to you,” Jinx raised an eyebrow. “Am I missing anything?” He asked, slightly snootily. The mysterious figure in front of him shook his head. “That’s it,” The figure agreed. Jinx stood.

“Well I’ll be on my way. It was a pleasure,” Jinx nodded at the mysterious man and headed for the door. Jinx had been born good at stealing, and since his once peaceful kingdom  fell to ruins and his parents died, he’d turned to stealing as a moneymaker. Jinx mused his blond hair, thinking over the assignment. It was a big one, but nothing he couldn’t handle.

Jinx slunk through the shadows, avoiding every guard and every security camera with minimal effort. He had no team. No backup. Just him- and the promise of payment. Jinx knew that getting around the outside guards was easy. These guards didn’t expect anything to happen, so they were never looking for anything unusual. The real challenge would be getting to the treasury room, only the guards that the Queen most trusted were allowed to guard it. Jinx carefully went from window to window, finally finding one that was cracked. Sliding it open, a tad more Jinx hauled himself through the window. The room he tumbled into was completely bare. Nothing but an ugly yellow wallpaper covering the walls. Jink cracked the door, and stepped out, when he was sure no one was coming. The treasury wasn’t hard to find. Jinx had been on a tour of the palace when his parents had been alive. Six guards were posted around the entrance to the treasury. There was no sneaking past them. Jinx grinned. He loved causing distractions. Across the hall from the treasury is Dining Room #4 . The grin never leaving his face, Jinx grabs a candle from the center of the table, quickly catching the edge of the napkin of fire and drops it onto the table. He watched the fire spread across the tablecloth for a second, then dashed from the room . Five minutes later a scream came from the dining room. “FIRE!!” The guards glanced up, they hesitated for a second, debating whether or not to leave the treasury. Another scream. “HELP! FIRE!” The guards took off. Jinx, still grinning, sauntered into the treasury. Jinx’s jaw dropped once inside. Gold, silver, and gems in every color covered the entire room. Jinx forced his arms to stay by his side, even though every instinct shouted to grab everything he could carry. Jinx surveyed the room, looking for (as the mysterious customer said) “the little green box,”. Jinx dug through the piles of treasure, until he found it. A small box that was ivory green, it’s paint peeling. Unable to resist the temptation, Jinx opened it. Jinx frowned, disappointment flooding through him. It was a scrap of paper. A scrap of paper with names on it. Jinx started to put it back, no longer interested, that’s when something caught his eye. A name towards the end. Jinx looked closer, and almost dropped the paper. One of the last names of the paper was Jinx Chims.
